As Tombstone continues to grow and the Archer family spreads out, newcomers to Tombstone bring new insight and new awareness for all of them. The continuation of the series includes the following five books:
Book 6: The Silversmith
A whole new world has opened up for Carol since her brother married Saffron Archer–Carol’s confidant and champion. Carol’s over protective brother Adam is even enjoying Carol’s newfound confidence, but isn’t at all convinced that she should have a suitor. But Carol and Saffron have something to say about it also. Adam might not be able to stand against both of them at once, and Carol just might find love.
Book 7: The Blacksmith
Olivia Blanchard was born with a rifle in her hand–or that’s what her father always told her as he raised her alone on their farm outside of Tombstone. But he was gone now, and it wasn’t enough for her when the thieves came calling, and burnt their farm to the ground. The town blacksmith finds her lovely, even standing in the mercantile covered in soot. She needs help and so does he, so he makes a proposal that turns both of their lives upside down.
Book 8: Christmas at Archer Ranch
The Archer family’s long time housekeeper and lifelong friend to Katie Archer finds herself in a predicament when the Archer men travel to Mexico to herd some burros north for the miners and return with someone Maria thought she’d never see again–and wasn’t sure if she wanted to.
Book 9: The Healer
Sage Archer learned everything she knew about medicinal tonics from her mother Katie Archer while she was still alive. Sage was a wonderful student, and has added her own intuitive touch to the tonics that she shares with Tombstone residents when they are in need. She works for Dr. Folsom, Tombstone’s doctor, and hopes someday to know as much as he does about medicine. But when Tombstone folks turn up ill from her tonics, a doctor visiting his undertaker father wants to just what is in the tonics, and his life is changed forever.
Book 10: Tarragon, Bride of Archer Ranch
All but one of Tarragon Archer’s siblings is married now and it’s quiet at the ranch. Tarra is thrilled to be working at the Tombstone post office, where there’s lots going on. But when the new postmistress insists that she learn Morse Code for the imminent telegraph service, Tarra is at a loss. When a stranger to town inquires about how he might find a resident, Tarra agrees to help him in exchange for Morse Code lessons–something that her father insisted on, and she’d rather be swallowed up by the earth than learn it. Especially from this man. But things change when they both discover who exactly is the woman he’s looking for, and things in Tombstone will never be the same again.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Very interesting stories and twists. Also liked to imagine such a time near Tombstone. That Olivia and Percy both managed the whole hog farm alone. Great to read a book with strong women characters who are kind. Thank you." ~ Amazon Reviewer
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I enjoy this Wild West Frontier books, and this one did not disappoint. It is fun seeing the people that we met in previous books, and each book reads well as a standalone and could be read out of order, but best read in written order. The story revolves mainly around Joe Stanton and Olivia Blanchard. Joe and his brother, Will, run a blacksmith shop that had been started by their father. Will has married, and it is Joe and his mother, the Widow Stanton. She is a bitter, spiteful woman and has made her son’s lives miserable." ~ Amazon Reviewer
There's a LOT more to Tombstone than the OK Corral!
1880s Tombstone exploded with the discovery of silver, from just a few mining claims to over 10,000 people from all over the world.
In contrast to many cities of that time period, Tombstone had electric lights, some indoor plumbing, a telegraph system and rudimentary telephones. It had an ice cream parlor, small opera house and all kinds of restaurants, from Chinese to Mexican to Irish pubs. There was even a skating rink.
And right smack in the middle of this burgeoning community is Archer Ranch, owned by long-time rancher Beau Archer, whose wife had recently passed away, leaving him with six grown daughters and a son. And in the beginning, when Tombstone was still a speck on the map, they were builders and founders of the community--and had various reasons to need spouses. A few quick arranged marriages were necessary, and you can read all about them and the growing community of Tombstone in this fascinating series filled with adventure, excitement and love.
Still, it took a lot of courage and gumption to do what this family did, even so. Take a look at the series. You'll be transported back to different times...and hooked!
