"Just a hint of romance with family and lifelong friend's memories thrown in. Characters you will know right away and love. A wonderful twist at the end." ~ Reader Review

"There are beautiful and vivid descriptions of the homes, the area, memories and reminisces along with multiple story lines being told and artfully woven together. The multigenerational aspect of the story is done nicely and I liked Jen and her friends reconnection with Joe, Jen's deceased husband's best friend along with his very Italian mama. I could taste the food!" ~ Reader Review

Lifelong Bonds, Unexpected Romance, and Beachside Fun

Fall in love with this uplifting and heartwarming tale of friendship, second chances, and the magic of new beginnings, set against the picturesque backdrop of Newport Beach. This charming saga, the first in a series, celebrates the transformative power of friendship and mid-life self-discovery.

Meet Jen Watson, a resilient widow, who finds herself in a battle to save her beloved grandmother's beach house from being sold by her own family. It's not just a house, but a memory trove that speaks of sunlit days, laughter-filled nights, and little hands crafting sandcastles by the ocean. As Jen seeks to preserve this irreplaceable piece of her heart, she's reacquainted with an old flame, something she'd never expected.

United in Jen's mission are her two lifelong friends. Carrie, an unconventional dentist who dances to her own rhythm, and Faith, a devoted kindergarten teacher on the brink of retirement with aspirations of entrepreneurship. Their shared journey is one of unexpected adventure, personal growth, and the sweetness of love rediscovered.

With their fifties unfurling in front of them like a second act, these three women face change with courage, grace, and a contagious zest for life. This series embraces the allure of new opportunities that can present themselves at any age, the preciousness of cherished memories, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship that make any storm weatherable.

It's a touching and inspiring tribute to the women who show us it's never too late to redefine who we are and grasp life with both hands. As an added treat, experience the anticipation of a grandmother-to-be as Jen's son and his wife are expecting their first child.

Pack your bag for Newport Beach and let the rolling waves and whispering sea breeze guide you through a captivating journey that will warm your heart and reignite your belief in endless possibilities. This is women's fiction at its finest - tender, evocative, and unforgettably enchanting.

Still Not Sure? Here's An Excerpt From Book 1:

“Hi. Which one of you is Jen Watson?” the tall man asked with a nod at both Jen and Carrie as he approached the picket fence of the beach house.

“I am.” Jen narrowed her eyes at him. She'd seen him somewhere before but she couldn't quite place it.

“Oh, good to meet you. I’m Dirk, Dirk Crabtree.”

At the same time Faith opened the gate, Carrie burst into a coughing fit, holding onto the post of the awning to steady herself.

“Are you all right?” Faith asked Carrie, who nodded slowly, her eyes wide.

“I’m Jen, and these are my friends Faith Donovan and—”

Carrie seemed to have suddenly caught her breath as she cut in. “Betty. Betty White. Nice to meet you.”

Dirk cocked his head as he shook their hands with a quizzical look at Carrie. “Uh, Betty White. Okay, well, nice to meet you all.”

Jen suddenly placed him as the realtor on one of the postcards they’d looked at before.

“So who contacted you? You’re a realtor, right?”

“Why yes, yes I am.” He seemed flattered that she recognized him, but Jen knew he was just doing his job. “Greg—your brother, I believe—asked if I could come and take a look at the house. Run some comps. Give him—and the family—an idea of a realistic sales price for the house.”

Jen felt all eyes on her as she sat slowly on one of the deck chairs. “Oh, okay,” was all she could eke out. She'd known all along that her father and brother were up to something. The unanswered phone calls and emails were a dead giveaway. But she hadn't thought they'd really move forward with selling the house. Nana's house.

“Great,” Dirk said, scribbling something on his clipboard. "Shall we?” he asked.

“Um, Faith, could you—”

“Of course,” Faith responded with a compassionate glance at Jen. “Right this way, Mr. Crabtree.”

As the screen door swung shut, Jen dropped her head in her hands. “Greg didn’t say anything about this. Nothing at all.”

Carrie sat down beside Jen, wrapping an arm over her shoulder. “I’m sure he just wants to see. Just get an estimate. Prices are sky high around here. He probably just wants to know what he’s dealing with.”

Jen glanced in the window behind her, where Faith was giving the realtor a tour. “I know. It just—it just feels wrong. He shouldn’t even be in there. Feels like we’re being invaded.”

Carrie stood and peeked in the window as well. “I know. I’d feel the same. But maybe it’ll be bad news. Who knows? It could be in such bad shape that you can’t get much for it. That’ll change the game, don’t you think?”

Jen didn't know what to think. “I think they’re almost done. He was in the bathroom.”

Finally, Faith and the realtor came back out. He was still scribbling on his clipboard.

He smiled and nodded at Jen. “Thanks, ladies. I think I have everything I need to give you a good quote.”

“Great,” Jen said with zero enthusiasm.

“Nice to meet you Faith, Miss Westland and...Miss White,” he said as he closed the creaky gate behind him. “Oh, and the toilet in the main floor bathroom was running. You might want to check it out.”

All three watched in silence as he got into the huge SUV that he’d parked right on the street in front of the house.

“Well, that was a surprise,” Carrie finally said as he pulled away.

“Almost as much of a surprise as when you introduced yourself as Betty White,” Faith said, sputtering through laughter. “What was that about?”

Carrie waved her hand and laughed. “I’ve had somebody calling the office for days asking for me and I didn’t know who it was, so I didn’t call back. I guess it was him. I didn’t want him to know who I was.”

Jen finally cracked a smile. “Okay, but Betty White? Really?”

“It was all I could think of. I’ve been binge-watching Golden Girls. It just came to me.”

Faith shook her head and rolled her eyes, her silver bracelets clinking as she brushed back her hair. “I’m sure he bought it. No question.”

“Hey, everything’s ready for dinner. You guys hungry?”

“Absolutely.” Carrie rubbed her tummy. “Just let me know how to help.”

Jen watched as Dirk turned onto Newport Boulevard and made a mental note to call her brother and her father yet again. There was something going on, obviously, that she didn’t know. And she needed to know, pronto. And if they thought they were going to sell Nana's house without a full-scale war with her, they were sorely mistaken.
